Juno, Alaska?

CNN: Teen daughter of GOP VP pick is pregnant:
Bristol Palin, the 17-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin, is pregnant and will keep the baby and marry the father, a senior aide to Sen. John McCain confirmed to CNN Tuesday. ***

The 17-year-old, a senior in high school, is about five months along, in her second trimester, according to the aide.
And now is a fine time to review a few highlights of John McCain's family planning voting record:
  • He voted against requiring health care plans to cover birth control (3/22/03).
  • He voted against comprehensive, medically accurate education (7/25/06).
  • He voted against international family planning funding (3/14/96).
  • He voted against funding to prevent teen and unintended pregnancies (3/17/05).
  • He voted against public education for emergency contraception (3/17/05).
  • And he voted against restoring Medicaid funding that could be used for family planning for low-income women (3/17/05).
We no longer have to wonder about the possible social outcomes of a McCain/Palin administration -- we can now see solid results of that unfortunate experiment.

What a great role model this young pregnant not-out-of-highschool teenager, is going to make for the young women of this country. Maybe her mom should stay home more and teach her children about birth control. She should also stay closer to home to spend time with her 4-month old down syndrome infant instead of putting him on the campaign trail. Palin has already shown poor judgement in her own personal life. And the Republicans want to put this woman a heartbeat away from possibly becoming the next president of the United States? This is a bigger blunder than Dan Quayle was!

In Georgia (as in the State of GA, USA), the daughter's boyfriend would be arrested (if he's over 18) and branded a sex offender. (Although the recent nationally publicized of a young, honor student teen involved in oral sex may have resulted in some legislative changes.)

I'm a mom of three, and media as it is today, I don't think I'd accept a position, such as Gov. Palin has; I would not subject my children to sales-driven media hype, but that is my personal perspective.

Wow what a good role model her young daughter is for all of the young girls in the nation. This lady is going to be our next vice president ouch its scary. Also I believe that Sarah Palin's new baby is not her husbands it could possibly be Sen Mccain that is why he gave her the spot as vp so she would not come out in the open and tell the media about it. Also her husband has a DWI. Wow what more skeletons are gonna come out of her closet. Her family has all of these Controversies. First she is being investigated by the Republican legislature in her state and her daughter is pregnat and her husband has a DWI. Whats next.

I am pro-choice, with that in mind, her uterus her business. Children of atheists get knocked up, children of religious zealots get knocked up. Should she have held her daughter down and forced an abortion just for her political agenda? Instead she willingly came before the public when their was gossip, false gossip at that, about her youngest child and presented the truth. She didn't play around with "define is" as Clinton did and then lie under oath. Also, shotgun weddings are illegal and both parties must consent. The daughter might full well not be married because her parents refuse to consent allowing her instead to wait until she is 18.

We are still talking about Clinton's lie?

With all the lies the Rep. have said up to this day, we still have to bring up Clinton?

Funny I didn't see any questions about birth control when Edwards had his 'failure' nor with Jesse Jackson Sr.

I guess only the children of conservatives are subject to such questions...

I will leave you all to your shadenfreud.

OM,

Neither J. Jackson nor J. Edwards are trying to tell American women what they can and cannot do with their reproductive systems. The GOP platform clearly lays out the desire to do exactly that.
